Training and Events for Fall 2011

Family support and service workers, we salute you!

You have tough, demanding (but oh so important) jobs.

Whether you're a home visitor, parenting educator, child care worker, or any of the other dedicated professionals, para-professionals and volunteers working on the front lines with kids and parents, your efforts make a difference in the lives of families all across our province.  That's why we're committed to bringing you top-notch trainings and professional development.  Because when you're at the top of your game, families benefit.

Training GuideSo we're very pleased this year to be launching our 2011/12 Training Guide, which gives you a look ahead at the training and professional development events we're planning for the coming months.

Some highlights:

  • Establishing Professional Boundaries, a newly introduced advanced training workshop for Home Visitors
  • Healthy Families, Brighter Futures, a one-day conference October 21, bringing together family support workers from a variety of disciplines and sectors to exchange, share, and network.  Keynote speakers include Clyde Hertzman of the Human Early Learning Partnership, and Today's Parent columnist John Hoffman.  The full conference package and online registration will be available in early September.

Registration for fall and winter training workshops is now open.  Register early to ensure that you don't miss out!

Further online workshops and resources for working with families
experiencing separation and divorce, and for parents of tweens will be
announced later in the year.  Stay tuned!
