Registration now open for this fall's most exciting professional development event

Vancouver, BC (Sept 7, 2011) -- We are very pleased today to be launching the registration for this October's upcoming Healthy Families, Brighter Futures conference. It promises to be an exciting full day of learning for family service providers, young parent workers, home visitors, and parent educators in BC. If you work with children, parents or families, you'll want to be part of Healthy Families, Brighter Futures.
Dr. Paul Kershaw of the Human Early Learning Partnership, one of Canada's leading thinkers on caregiving and family policy, will deliver the Keynote Address: "A New Deal for Families". You'll want to join us to hear Dr. Kershaw's exciting proposal for how BC can "put the family back into Canadian values."
John Hoffman, a nationally acclaimed writer with Today's Parent magazine, will close the conference with an entertaining and thought-provoking examination of whether today's deluge of parenting information is helping or hindering modern parenting. In between these two engaging speakers participants can choose from a wide variety of informative, relevant workshops and breakout sessions designed to build your skills, extend your knowledge, and offer new approaches and perspectives for working with families.
Whether you are looking for interactive, participatory workshops, current academic research or want to gain practical skills to apply to the programs you lead, there is something for everyone. You'll enjoy a day of thought-provoking presentations that centre on the needs of young parents, vulnerable families and children.
Join us this October 21 in Vancouver! Engage with colleagues from around the province, and immerse yourself in fresh, innovative strategies to positively support family services in your community.
