Become a Trained Home Visitor

FamiliesThe more support parents have, the more children benefit.
The Home Visitor Training Initiative brings a higher level of professional support to parents. Parenting is a difficult job and trained Home Visitors bring a wide skill-set and range of expertise to support parents and enhance their ability to raise happier, more responsible and more secure children.

The Initiative provides the necessary training to Home Visitors as they deal with sensitive issues and risk factors that are found in environments they enter.

Core Training

Our engaging, interactive training program is packed with information, discussion and activities. The Council's Home Visitor training sessions ensure that new or current Home Visitors and supervisors develop the skills and strategies to bring a higher level of service to the families they work with.

Advanced Training

Establishing and maintaining a healthy balance between effective, quality service and over or under-involvement can be challenging for new or veteran Home Visitors and their supervisors. At this new advanced training workshop, you'll learn how to establish and maintain professional boundaries with clients.
