Training for the Nobody's Perfect parenting program is conducted throughout the year, in communities around BC. To find out about an upcoming training, contact the Provincial Coordinator at NobodysPerfect@bccf.ca


Who is Nobody's Perfect facilitator training for?

The Nobody's Perfect facilitator training is specifically designed for practitioners with previous experience and/or education in facilitating groups and working with children, youth and families. You will be:

  • Comfortable with the basic principles of adult education
  • Currently employed or volunteering at a multi-service agency or family support organization
  • Passionate about supporting families in all their diversity

What will I learn in training?

Nobody's Perfect facilitator training is packed with helpful skill building exercises and information. You will gain:

  • A thorough knowledge of Nobody's Perfect program objectives and materials
  • Increased awareness of the principles of adult education
  • Enhanced skills in assessing the needs of parent groups
  • The ability to plan and direct program sessions
  • Enriched practical facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of risk and protective factors
  • A deeper understanding of the concerns parents have in diverse cultural and linguistic communities in BC

What does training include?

  • 4 day training session
  • Facilitator's Guide and supplemental program materials
  • Certificate of Completion (after co-facilitating your first Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program within one year of completion of the training workshop)
  • Lunch and refreshments each day of training

How do I register for training?

Check our upcoming events listings to find trainings and register online. To receive notices as trainings are announced, sign up for our weekly enewsletter, Healthy Families.

When do I get certified?

You must co-facilitate your first Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program within one year of completing the training workshop in order to qualify for certification.

What happens after certification?

Professional education with the BC Council for Families doesn't end when you complete a training session. You'll become part of a community of fellow facilitators, parent educators and trainers. Through regional meetings and informative updates, you'll have access to an increasing array of tools and resources to support your work with parents and families.
