Who is training for?
My Tween and Me leader training is designed for those with previous experience and/or education in facilitating groups and working with children, youth and families. You will be:
- Comfortable with the basics of adult education
- Currently employed or volunteering at a multi-service agency or family support organization
- Passionate about supporting all types of families
What will I learn in training?
The training incorporates both research and practical techniques on:
- Key developmental milestones for children aged 7-12
- Risk and protective factors
- Issues parents face in diverse cultural and linguistic communities in BC
- Practical skills for working with parents
What does training include?
Participants will receive:
- 2 days of intensive instruction and guided discussion
- Leader's Guide and program resource materials
- Lunch and refreshments each day of training
- Certificate of completion

Will there be training in my community soon?
At this time, we are only funded to provide My Tween and Me leader training in the Lower Mainland. Family service professionals from all over BC and Canada are welcome to attend. We are actively seeking funding to provide training in other parts of BC and to make the program more accessible to agencies across the province.
