Feature Documentary: Left 2 Live
There is little research and few resources looking at the impact of a suicide death on bereaved youth, from the perspective of the youth themselves. An emotionally powerful video exploration of the grieving and healing process in teens and young adults, Left 2 Live allows young people to use their voices and wisdom to help others understand how to provide support following a suicide, and to know what is important to bereaved youth.
Through interview and discussion, the video follows the personal journeys of several BC teens who have experienced tragic loss through suicide, as they bravely, candidly, and sometimes humourously share their stories.
The five-part video can be viewed online, or purchase the DVD through the BC Council for Families online bookstore.
A Facilitator's Guide, with suggestions for setting up discussions before and after viewing the video, is available for download. Print copies are included in the Left 2 Live Toolkit, available though the BC Council for Families bookstore.
