MA in Community Development

Jul 12

Anyone in the community social services sector considering a return to school has a new option now that the University of Victoria School of Public Administration has launched their MA in Community Development. This new distance education program is designed for people who are not able to take two years out of the workforce to return to school. Through online courses and three residential workshops lasting two to three weeks, students will learn the skills required to lead non-profits, co-operatives and community economic development organizations.

The program offers an opportunity for interdisciplinary studies with courses led by instructors from several departments and includes participation from community-based organizations. The final project required to graduate from the program involves analyzing a problem for a community development sector client.

If you have been feeling a burning need to become a student again information about the program can be found at: The University of Victoria School of Public Administration, MA in Community Development .
