Parenting programs and family service advocacy.

Expand your abilities to work with families and children.  Positively influence parents' skills, knowledge, and confidence with our certified parenting programs for families with children ages zero through twelve.

And join a network of like-minded family professionals in our advocacy initiatives that speak to the powers-that-be in one, strong voice across the province.

Certified Training Programs

  • Home Visitor Training Initiative

Intensive support and intervention in the home.

All parents deserve support. And when families get the support they need, serious problems can often be prevented. Home visiting programs are an effective and cost-efficient way to improve parental skills and confidence, connect families with other community resources, and ensure positive child outcomes.

  • My Tween & Me Parenting Program

Unearthing the full potential of parents' relationships to their pre-teens.

The My Tween and Me parenting program strengthens the confidence and ability of parents to positively influence their tweens. Parents with children age 7-12 can find encouragement in developing family relationships to prevent high-risk behaviour during the tween years and later on.

  • Nobody's Perfect Parenting Program

Building on parenting strengths to overcome challenges.

Nobody's Perfect is proven to produce key changes in parenting that reduce the risk of families experiencing crisis. Developed for parents with children ages zero to five, the program brings parents in need of support together to discuss and share experiences of parenting.

  • Parent-Child Mother Goose Program

Discover the pleasure and power of rhymes, songs and stories.

The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® is a group experience for parents and their babies and young children. Preventative in nature, Parent-Child Mother Goose helps parents create positive family patterns during their children’s crucial early years, while building on parents’ strengths and confidence.

Networks

  • BC Alliance for Young Parents

Reducing risks and strengthening young families.

Strengthening the capacity of young parent families reduces risks to both children and youth. In BC today, young parent programs provide education, counseling, community referrals, and childcare for our province’s struggling teenagers and their children.

    BC Alliance for Young Parents
  • Father Involvement Network

For a province where fathering is respected and supported.

By bringing fathering researchers, practitioners, and policy makers together, the Father Involvement Network of BC creates opportunities for the development of innovative practices for working with fathers that are grounded in research and evidence.
